CZ DUTY 4.0 C
Specs at a glance
About this product
Across Kansas, a 9mm that rides in a truck console all week and goes to the range on Saturday needs to be simple and tough. CZ's new DUTY 4.0 fits that life. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm with a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame and a serialized internal chassis, so the grip frame is a modular part. The barrel is 4 inches and not threaded, the sights are fixed, and the slide takes a red dot by direct mount.
Kansas shooters who want a belt gun will lean toward the C compact: 15+1 rounds, 17+1 with the extended base plate, 770 g and 135 mm tall. Those who want a full grip for the range will prefer the F full-size: 17+1, 19+1 extended, 780 g and 143 mm tall. Either one measures 188 mm long by 33 mm wide. Trigger pull is about 5.6 lbs, reset 4 mm. Order the MS version if you want a manual thumb safety added to the three internal safeties. MSRP is $729.
Where the P-10 had a registered polymer frame, the DUTY 4.0 moves the serial number to an internal modular chassis. That is the headline. The rest follows the modern service-pistol formula done carefully: a striker SFDA trigger at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) (4 mm (0.16 in) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel), a 188 mm (7.4 in) long slide with direct-mount optics cuts, fixed sights and a 102 mm barrel without a thread.
The C is the compact frame. It stands 135 mm (5.3 in) tall, weighs 770 g (27.2 oz) with an empty magazine and carries 15+1 rounds of 9mm, or 17+1 once the extended base plate is fitted. Short enough to hide under a shirt, long enough to get every finger on the grip.
There is no manual safety on this model. Drop safety comes from the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the trigger-bar safety, the way most modern striker pistols are set up. If you want a thumb lever, the MS version has one.
The CZ DUTY 4.0 C suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: daily carry, a bedside gun that also rides along, and new shooters who want one pistol for everything.
Your DUTY 4.0 ships to the Kansas FFL dealer you choose at checkout, or to a dealer in another state if you live elsewhere. That dealer does the transfer paperwork and applies the rules of that state at pickup. We do not ship complete pistols to a home address. Choose your dealer before ordering so the pistol has a clear destination.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I have the DUTY 4.0 sent to a dealer outside Kansas?
- Yes. Pick any FFL dealer in your state at checkout and the pistol ships there. The dealer applies that state's rules at pickup.
- Is the DUTY 4.0 barrel threaded for a suppressor?
- No. The 4-inch barrel on both the C and F models is not threaded.
- Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines?
- CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
- Is the compact easy to shoot?
- It shares the 4-inch barrel and slide with the full-size gun, so the sight radius is the same. Only the grip is shorter.
